Healing the Children

Healing the Children envisions a world where every child has access to medical care. The challenges have never been greater: the ever-changing healthcare system in the United States, the shortage of available funds to nonprofit organizations, and the ever-increasing needs of children here and around the world.

Dr. Haeck has been an advisor to the board of Healing the Children for over ten years, and has performed free reconstructive surgery on more than one hundred children from four continents. Many of these children have had deformities too complex to be treated in their own rural villages, or even their own country. Healing the Children arranges not only the free medical care in Seattle, but provides foster homes for the children, where they can stay between reconstructive procedures.

Dr. Haeck has also traveled as a member of Healing the Children's Overseas Medical Teams to provide specialty surgery to children in remote, poverty stricken areas, and to teach the local surgeons the latest techniques in plastic surgery. He remains dedicated to this organization and its efforts to provide modern care for some of the least fortunate children in the world.
